At a glance

Start with Spark's free inbox; pay when a specific feature earns its place.

Spark is an email client for people juggling several inboxes. Automatic sorting is the clearest reason to try it. Evaluate paid AI and collaboration features separately, especially if you expect the same capabilities on desktop and mobile.

Pros

  • Combines accounts in one inbox or lets you view them separately.
  • Smart Inbox separates personal mail, newsletters, and notifications.
  • Optional AI search and writing tools work with existing email accounts.

Cons

  • Feature availability differs between platforms.
  • Workflows, Auto-Labels, and Auto-Drafts are still marked coming soon.
  • Pro meeting notes still consume the monthly AI quota.
  • AI Assistant sends selected relevant emails to an external AI provider.

Who this is not for

If an unreleased Pro feature is your reason to pay, wait until you can try it. For occasional email, compare the free plan with the paid features you would actually use, and test AI replies before relying on them.

Pricing

Free plan available. The official page showed EUR at our September 8, 2026 check: Plus €10/user/month or €99/year; Pro €22/user/month or €229/year. Confirm your local currency at checkout. AI usage has monthly quotas, including meeting transcription.

Start with inbox organization

Spark's Smart Inbox groups personal mail, newsletters, and notifications. Accounts can appear together or separately. That makes it worth a trial if switching between inboxes is the problem you want to solve. Spark cautions that capabilities differ across Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android. Official Smart Inbox overview.

Our suggestion: connect one account first and inspect where important messages land. Try the same tasks on your phone and desktop before committing to a team rollout.

Evaluate the AI separately

AI Assistant can search email, summarize conversations, and help draft replies. Spark says its index is local, but relevant emails and your prompt are sent to an AI provider to generate an answer. The provider can retain that material for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring. This is not entirely on-device AI. Official AI Assistant documentation.

If you try it, ask about a message whose answer you already know. Check the original email before treating a generated summary as a commitment or deadline.

Pay for what is available today

The pricing page still labels Workflows, Auto-Labels, and Auto-Drafts as coming soon. Plus includes 40 meeting notes per month; Pro removes the count limit, but transcription and summaries still draw from its monthly AI allowance. Official plans and quota explanation.

Our view: future features should not be the deciding reason to subscribe. Test the capability you need on your own device first.

Is the displayed monthly price billed monthly?

Check the billing toggle. An annual plan displays a monthly equivalent but charges for the year. The pricing card above records the EUR prices we could verify, not an assumed US-dollar price.

Can I use Spark without paid AI?

Yes. There is a free plan, and Spark +AI is off by default. Check the current plan comparison for any preview allowance.

Will every feature work on my phone?

Do not assume desktop and mobile are identical. Try the actions you rely on in each app; Spark's own feature page notes platform differences.
