Formerly Windsurf, and before that Codeium. Run Devin, Codex, Claude Agent and other coding agents on one board, with a full IDE to review their work.
Worth a try if you run several coding agents and want one place to review them.
Devin Desktop is the new name for Windsurf. It puts an agent board in front of the editor, so Devin, Codex, Claude Agent and other agents run side by side. The Windsurf IDE, Tab completions and settings carry over. The free plan's agent quota is light, so steady agent work needs Pro.
Free: light agent quota, limited models, unlimited Tab completions and inline edits. Pro: $20/month with frontier models, Devin Cloud agents and extra usage at API prices. Max: $200/month for much higher quotas. Teams: $80/month plus $40 per full seat, up to 200 users. Enterprise on request. Checked October 16, 2026.
Devin Desktop is the new name for Windsurf. Codeium renamed itself Windsurf in 2025, and Cognition bought it later that year. On June 2, 2026, Cognition renamed the editor Devin Desktop. The update arrives over the air, and Cognition says plans, pricing, extensions and settings carry over. Official announcement.
This listing used to cover Codeium, the free autocomplete tool. The product has moved on: it is now an editor built around coding agents.
The Agent Command Center is the default view. Each agent session sits on a Kanban board: running, waiting for review, or done. Spaces group sessions, pull requests, files and Git worktrees, so agents working on one feature share context. Official product page.
Devin Desktop supports the Agent Client Protocol (ACP). At launch that meant Codex, Claude Agent, OpenCode and Cascade alongside Devin's own agents. An agent your team builds in-house can join the same board if it speaks ACP.
Behind the board is the Windsurf IDE, with syntax highlighting, debugging, Tab completions and Supercomplete. Fast Context finds the files an agent needs. A review pane walks through each agent diff before you push. It runs on macOS, Windows and Linux. JetBrains users get the separate Windsurf plugin instead. Official download page.
The free plan keeps unlimited Tab completions and inline edits. Agent work is the metered part. Paid plans include a quota that refreshes daily and weekly. Past it, extra usage is billed at API prices. Cognition suggests smaller models for routine tasks to stretch the quota. Official pricing.
Our suggestion: run one real task on the free plan with a second agent next to Devin. If the board saves you from juggling terminals and tabs, Pro is the next step. If you mostly want autocomplete, the free plan may be all you need.
Same lineage, different product. The free autocomplete survives as unlimited Tab completions. The rest of the product is about running and reviewing agents.
Cognition says no. The IDE, extensions, workflows, settings and in-progress work migrate in the update. Official FAQ.
