Turn messy, spoken thoughts into clean, formatted text in any app. This AI dictation tool removes filler words and understands corrections as you speak.
Consider it for frequent dictation when cloud processing fits your workflow.
Wispr Flow turns speech into edited text across desktop and mobile apps. It is worth trying for messages and first drafts if speaking suits your workspace. Cloud processing is the main tradeoff; meeting notes have different platform support from dictation.
Choose another dictation tool if you need to work offline or keep voice processing on your device. Flow sends speech to the cloud. If meeting notes are your main reason to subscribe, check that the notetaker supports your operating system.
Free dictation: 2,000 words/week on desktop, 1,000/week on iPhone, and unlimited on Android. Pro includes unlimited dictation at $15/user/month or $144/year ($12/month equivalent). Meeting limits and retention are separate. Checked September 8, 2026.
Flow is designed to turn spoken drafts into formatted text in the app where you are writing. Wispr describes cleanup of filler words and self-corrections, rather than a strictly word-for-word transcript. Official product overview.
Our suggestion: try it on work where you already know what you want to say, such as an update to a colleague. Compare the time to dictate and correct the result with the time you would spend typing. Accuracy with your names and terminology matters more than a headline speed claim.
Dictation supports Mac, Windows, iOS, and Android. Notetaker is Mac-only at this check. The free plan has weekly meeting limits; Pro raises them and extends retention. Wispr does not give a numerical meeting allowance on its public comparison table. Official pricing.
Wispr says transcription always takes place in the cloud. Its settings let you control model-improvement participation and persistent dictation storage. Those controls do not turn it into local processing. Official privacy overview.
If your workplace requires voice to stay on the device, this is a reason to choose another tool. If cloud processing is acceptable, review the data settings before dictating work material.
It is not a suitable offline option: the transcription service relies on the cloud.
Try the free allowance on the device you actually use. Upgrade only after the limit interrupts useful work. A desktop trial does not tell you how comfortable dictation will feel on a phone or in a shared office.
Try a short message, a longer explanation, and a draft containing names or technical terms. Read the output before sending. Include correction time in your comparison and check whether you are comfortable speaking aloud in your usual workspace.
